Intel stock bounces back after solid earnings

Intel delivered strong second-quarter results after the market closed on Thursday. Shares of Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) jumped more than 10% in after-hours trading on Thursday after the company announced solid Q2 results.
On Thursday, Wall Street experienced a significant and broad-based decline, marking its worst single-day drop in a month. This downturn was primarily driven by mixed earnings reports from major technology companies, including Alphabet and Tesla, which fell short of investor expectations.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) shares declined nearly 15% after the company reported lower automotive margins and negative free cash flow for the second quarter. Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) shares dropped more than 7% following mixed second-quarter earnings, with the company announcing an increased capital expenditure plan of $205 billion for the year.

In contrast, Intel, one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers, delivered strong second-quarter results after the market closed on Thursday. Intel is a leading digital chipmaker focused on designing and manufacturing microprocessors for the global personal computer and data center markets.

Intel posted its highest revenue growth in 15 years

The company reported its strongest revenue growth in over 15 years, surpassing expectations with a 25% year-over-year increase. Intel posted $16.1 billion in Q2 revenue, significantly exceeding the $14.4 billion forecast by analysts. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.42 more than doubled estimates.

The data center and AI (DCAI) segment showed exceptional performance, generating $6.3 billion in revenue—a 59% increase year-over-year and a 24% increase month-over-month. Following the robust Q2 results, Intel raised its revenue guidance for the third quarter, once again surpassing market consensus. “As we continue to execute, Intel is well-positioned to capture sustainable growth across our CPU franchise.”- Intel CEO, CEO Lip-Bu Tan said.

Shares of Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) jumped more than 10% in after-hours trading on Thursday after the company announced solid Q2 results and raised revenue guidance. Despite the initial rally following the earnings report, the stock saw a minor pullback as investors took profits while evaluating Intel’s AI-focused growth strategy and its better-than-expected outlook for Q3.
